StartFragmentHappy Saturday! Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.
I had always been a believer in investing in the basics. Basic white tees, regular blue jeans, black heels …. ok, you get the idea. So this time around, I have invested in a somewhat basic shawl. Apart from our usual cardigans, shawls come pretty handy as well when it gets a little chilly, it also gives a plain outfit a small pinch of style. Yes, I did say a "somewhat basic shawl" because this particular shawl have fringes to it, giving it more of a boho style. However, it can still be styled for a few different occasions and perhaps this post can also give you some ideas on how you may wear your shawl.
Here, I have paired the shawl vest with a plain white tee, a pair of black leggings and a pair of heel booties keeping the outfit simple while enhancing the focus on the shawl.
no. 1 Back to Basics
Wearing the shawl vest at its full length, just like a regular cardigan. This look is perfect for our day to day casual wear.

no. 2 Double Layered
Wear the shawl vest at a shorter length. Approximately where the arm hole starts, pull the shawl up from there and flip the excess to the back to create that double layered effect. This look is perfect for our regular day to day wear as well, but with a little feminine hint to it.

no. 3 Chunky Scarf
Wear the shawl vest around your neck like you would with a regular scarf. Pull one end of the shawl through the arm hole on the opposite side to secure it, then tug all excess underneath to create this chunky scarf look. This look is perfect for a chilly day when you need to be outdoors more than usual or for whenever you need 2 outfits in 1 day, just simply undo the scarf and wear the shawl.

no. 4 Belted Shawl
Wear the shawl entirely as a vest, so that nothing is covering the arms. Put a belt on at where your waistline is to enhance the shape of your body. This look is perfect for brunches or casual business meetings.

no. 5 The Hoodie
Pull shawl up from approximately where the arm holes are to create the hood. Wrap the shawl over your head to confirm the exact amount of the shawl you will need to create the hood. Here I have folded in the fringes for the hood portion. Pull one end of the shawl and tug it into the arm hole of the opposite side and pin it from underneath to complete the look. You can also use a brooch to secure the shawl for a fancier look. This look is perfect for a rainy/chilly day. You can wear this inside a coat that doesn't have a hood - how convinent is that?
