5 Ways to Style a Striped Maxi

One of my favourite things to wear during the summer months is a maxi dress. Maxi dresses are like the pretty version of leggings - comfy while looking casually dressed up. In this post I will be showing you how I turned a $15.00 basic maxi dress into 5 different outfits!

no. 1 Plaid over Stripes

Grab any plaid shirt in your closet and just tie it around you waist! This has been my go to lazy style lately (tying a plaid shirt over most casual outfits i.e. here) To keep the outfit more of a street style one, I have finished off the outfit with a pair of my favourite sneakers. This outfit is perfect for those days when you have no clue what to wear. You can simply just throw these pieces on!

no. 2 Beach Day

Put on a light casual vest, a straw hat and your favourite pair of beach sandals and you are ready to go! This look is perfect if you are doing some sight-seeing on a tropical/beach vacation or even just a day out on sunny day in town or the city!

no. 3 Island Love

Wear a lose fitted cropped t-shirt over the maxi dress, alternatively you can wear any lose fitted t-shirt you find in your closet and simply tie a knot to make it into a cropped top. To go for the island look, I have StartFragmentaccessorizedEndFragment the outfit with a turban headband and finished it off with my favourite sandals this season. This look is perfect for any summer festivals or vacations where it may cool down a bit at night.

no. 4 City Girl

This look is simple, yet chic. A classic maxi dress pairing look. Simply wear a denim jacket over the dress and finish the look off with a pair of flats, sandals or even wedges! This outfit is perfect for a first date, casual date night, brunch with the girls, pretty much just about anything!

no. 5 Chic Pastel Purple

Wear a plain coloured long sleeve top over the maxi dress. Secure the top with a belt to enhance the waistline and to wear the maxi dress as a midi pencil skirt. Finish off the look with a pair of wedges or heels. This outfit is perfect for business meetings or any event that requires business casual attire.
